The Fourth of July…
I loved that holiday when I was a kid. I think that was back when most people would shoot off fire crackers ON the actual fourth of July. Not on June 29 all the way up to July 4 and beyond. You know it’s bad when your youngest daughter gets weepy and declares that she hasn’t gotten a good night’s sleep all week long. It’s also bad when the fire crackers make your deaf self and your deaf husband jump. I feel bad for hearing people–especially for veterans and animals too.
But all that aside, the Fourth of July is worth celebrating with good food and family.
Hence the pictures to follow.
🙂
Annie freaked out while holding her sparkler and threw it on the ground. Good thing we’ve had plenty of rain lately.
Then it was time to watch the fireworks show. Yes, in the daylight. (Note: no firecrackers were used.)
Big kids at heart.
The lovely grandmothers. Love them so!
Before and after my sister Amy socked our mother in the face:
(Mom was okay but had to wear her sunglasses afterwards…)
Katie let me snap some shots of her pretty self.
Little sis Annie wasn’t feeling it with the camera that day.
But I got her to smile a bit eventually.
Hubby is always up for a selfie. He likes to show his serious side.
Someone needs to tell the girl in red that the loud booms will be over soon.
(In fact, there were NO fire crackers shot off the next day nor since. Now that’s something to celebrate!)
Happy Independence Day Week!
