Shine Brighter than a Star, But Still Be Who You Are!

Last night, Annie and I read an Angelina Ballerina book in which Angelina aspires to be a prima ballerina before her time.

“Angelina was a star in her dance academy but her dream was to shine even brighter.”

I asked Annie what she thought that meant, “to shine even brighter.”

“It means she wants to be better.”

“Yep, that’s right.”

Annie contemplated a bit, then added, “But you know, God loves you just as you are.

You don’t have to be better.  You can still be who you are!”

Well, if that don’t beat all!

As they say, out of the mouths of babes…

So, on this Monday, may we all aim to shine brighter than a star, but still be who we are.

(Yes, that statement rhymes and yes, it’s a bit cheesy.  But it’s a piece of cheese with truth.  So feel free to chew on that for a bit.  And now I’m ending this post.  You’re welcome.)
