14 Years!

Today is the 14 year anniversary of the day that Mike and I stood at the altar, nervous but mostly happy.

My two sisters Sara and Amy and Mike’s brother Steve stood up with us.  My brother-in-law Randy Pringle did a beautiful job of officiating our wedding in ASL (thanks again, bro!).

When all was said and signed, Mike and I proceeded to drink from the cup of wine to symbolize our union, followed by the Jewish custom of breaking the glass.  We both bent down to pick up the cup and noticed that it was bone dry empty.

Oops.  That did us in.

Trying hard not to laugh too hard, we pretended to drink from the cup anyway.

Fourteen years later, we aren’t trying as hard not to laugh hard–life is much easier handled with laughter.

And I’m so glad God chose us to be life mates and laugh mates.

Happy 14, with many more to come!
